Marcia Saunders Lindsay

Marcia Saunders Lindsay, 77, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and dear friend returned home to our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 surrounded by the people she loved.

Marcia was born on July 22, 1934 in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Edward T. and Marcia Slater Saunders. She was the youngest of twelve children and was raised in Ogden. She graduated from Ogden High and attended Weber State College where she met her sweetheart David S. Lindsay. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, by President David O. McKay, on November 4, 1954.

Marcia had a true love for family and the gospel. As her older sister Anna would say "the richest gift you can have is family". Everyone was her "favorite", niece, nephew, brother, sister, daughter, son, neighbor, friend. When you were with her, you truly felt like you were. She loved you all so much. Even though physical and mental ailments had limited her in her ability to get around and do things, she never lost her warmth, wit, or sense of humor. She had a genuine love for all those she came in contact with.

Marcia left behind her husband, David S. Lindsay, her children, David J. Lindsay, Janette (Craig) Hawkins, Ken (Paige) Lindsay, and Julee (Waldo) Trujillo; 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers Lawrence, Leland, Glen, and Darrell, sisters Marva Elggren, Ilene Smith, Lou Jean Wiggins and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandson David William Lindsay, brothers Edward, Marvin, and Carl Saunders and sister, Anna Easthope.

We truly mourn the loss of such a beautiful and virtuous daughter of God. We are grateful for the opportunity to have been associated with such an example of Christ-like qualities and for all the ways she blessed our lives. While we shed tears of sorrow, let us also rejoice that she is now reunited with our Heavenly Father, the Savior, and other family members on the other side. She lived an exemplary life and her example and influence will be felt for generations.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10th at 1:00 p.m. at the Country Crossing Ward Chapel, 1285 South 2500 West, Syracuse. Friends may visit with family Friday, March 9th, from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Eden Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Davis North Hospital and Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary for their kind and gentle manner in handling our sweet Marcia.
