Manuel Anthony Lopez

Manual Anthony (Tony) Lopez, Sr., 83, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Tony was born October 21, 1928 in Canjilon, New Mexico to Manuel Antonio and Tiofila Maez Lopez. He married Sorida Madrid and she preceded him in death. He later married Angie Garcia and they later divorced but remained good friends.

Tony was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he was an aircraft mechanic for 37 years. He took pride in making his yard and flowers look good and loved to always have a garden. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, going for walks, and watching wrestling.

He is survived by three sons, Roger Lopez, Mike Lopez and Tony Lopez; three daughters Sandra (Joe) Valerio, Sodi (Ruben) Curls, Lori (Joey) Richmond, and Kacy Lopez; 20 grandkids, 39 great-grandkids, three great-great-grandkids; and his sister Claudina "Mary" (Dave) Archuleta.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sorida Madrid and his daughter Mary Rose Byrum.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton, UT. Friends may visit family Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. where a rosary prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
