Marlow Jay Black passed away on Saturday August 16, 2025 at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield, Utah. He was born May 17, 1939 in Blanding, Utah to David Owen and Mary Darles Mangum Black.
He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1976 retiring as am E-6 Technical Sargeant.
He lived in Maine, Mississippi, Arizona, Michigan, Guam, and Clearfield, Utah.
Jay received his high school GED and he attended Weber State receiving a Bachelor of Science Elementary Education degree, and a Master of Education degree from Brigham Young University.
He married Barbara Ann Black on April 23, 1960 in Utica, New York. After her passing in 2019 he married Donna Pribble in January 2020 in Farr West, Utah. She passed away in February of 2025.
Jay enjoyed golfing, ceramics, camping and doing stain glass work.
He is survived by his children; John Francis, Layton, UT, Stephan Arthur, Duncan, OK, Jay Owen, Hooper, UT, Cynthia Lee, Salt Lake City, UT and Katherine Marie, West Point, UT. He also has seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday August 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., prior to the graveside service.
