With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lynda Kaye Kenny, who departed this life on July 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lynda was a woman of immeasurable grace and quiet strength. Known for her sweet spirit and kindness, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know her. Her presence was a comforting light and a steady, loving force that brought peace to any room she entered.
Lynda lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering kindness. She found great fulfillment in her long and dedicated career at MTC, where she worked for over 30 years. Lynda truly loved her job and the people she worked with, and her coworkers became an extension of her family. She was proud of the work she did, and her loyalty, integrity, and determination left a lasting impression on all those around her.
Her kind nature was evident in every interaction, from the tender way she loved her family to the gentle compassion she extended to animals, especially her beloved cats, who were cherished members of her home. Her cats were her constant companions, offering comfort during both quiet afternoons and the long nights of her illness.
Lynda’s greatest joy was found in the embrace of family. She adored children and shared a special bond with her grandchildren, whose laughter and hugs were her greatest medicine. To them, she was a source of unconditional love and the keeper of treasured memories.
She had a quiet generosity that defined the way she lived. Lynda would always take less so that others could have more. Whether it was her time, her resources or her love, she gave freely and without hesitation. Her selflessness was not loud or boastful, it was simply how she was.
Throughout her life, Lynda showed incredible determination. She met each challenge with courage, grace, and an unyielding spirit. Never one to complain, she walked through the darkest days with quiet dignity and a heart still open to love and beauty. Her resilience reflected her boundless hope, which remained intact until the very end.
Lynda is survived by her devoted son, Joel (Amy) Kenny; her treasured grandchildren, Charlie and Ozzy; her loving brother, Rick (Raven) Hessheimer; and her dear sisters, Barbara Williams (Robert Kilburn) and Joyce (Tom) Stanger; and many other nieces and nephews. Her family, along with countless friends and coworkers, will miss her deeply and remember her always.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elizabeth W. and Eugene E. Hessheimer.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Lynda on August 9, 2025, from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Copper Nickel, 2450 Grant Avenue, Ogden.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local animal shelter in Lynda’s memory, a cause close to her heart.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that love like hers does not end. It lives on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those whom she nurtured, guided, and cherished.
Rest peacefully, Lynda. You were deeply loved, and you will be forever missed.
