Theron Taylor Twogood Jr. passed away November 28, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by his family. Just four days later, on December 2, 2025 , his beloved wife, Luella “Kay” (Lofgreen) Twogood, also age 89, followed him, leaving this life just as they had lived it for the past 67 years, together.
Theron was born in Riverside, California on January 27, 1936, to Theron Taylor and Gladys Houston (McCann) Twogood. He grew up among the fruit orchards of Highgrove, sharing childhood adventures with his brother James and sister Billie (Talkington). After graduating high school, he attended Riverside College for a year before enlisting in the U.S. Coast Guard. Following his service, he continued his education and earned his Bachelor of Science degree from BYU.
Kay was born on October 11, 1936 in Tucson, Arizona, to Harold Edward and Adah Loree (Lee) Lofgreen. She spent her youth in Riverside, California, surrounded by her sister Becky (Tower), and brothers Van Harold and Ted Lofgreen. She graduated from Polytechnic High School, later studying Liberal Arts at the University of California Riverside before continuing her education at BYU.
Theron and Kay’s love story began at the Riverside Ward recreation hall, where a single dance sparked a lifetime more. They were married and sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on June 26, 1956. From that moment on, they shared a life filled with love, music, family, and countless adventures.
Shortly after their marriage, Theron served in the Coast Guard as an electronics technician, with assignments in Alaska and Korea. During that time, Kay returned to Riverside to help raise her niece Becky (Snowball) and two nephews, Jerry and Mike Tower, after the loss of their parents. When Theron returned from duty, they continued raising the children as their own, always remaining close.
There and Kay were later blessed with three beautiful children, Taylor, Billie, and Ted. In 1971 they moved to Fruit Heights, Utah, where they built a lasting home.
Theron devoted his life to teaching, sharing his knowledge with generations of students throughout more than 30 years in the Davis School District. Beyond the classroom, he passed on his love for music, offering piano lessons that enriched the lives of many. He spent seven summers as a ranger with the National Park Service. There, alongside Kay, he nurtured his children a deep reverence for the natural world and created memories they will carry forever.
Kay dedicated 24 years to the Kaysville City Library, where her warm presence, knowledge, and devotion to both family and community became her hallmark. She began as an assistant librarian and grew into the role of head librarian. One of her greatest joys was igniting a love for reading in her community, especially in the hearts of children discovering stories for the first time. A woman of endless resourcefulness and many gifts, Kay created beauty wherever she went. Her cooking, her quilts, her garden, her songs—each a reflection of her creativity, her strength, and her deep love for those she cherished.
Together, Theron and Kay devoted many years of service as temple workers in the Bountiful Temple. Kay offered her compassion and guidance through her callings in Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary, while Theron shared his musical talent as an organist and teacher. Their faith was not only spoken—it was lived each day in service and through the love they shared.
They are preceded in death by their parents, siblings, one grandchild Alixander, and one great grandchild Theron V.
They are survived by their children; Theron “Taylor” (Leslie) Twogood III, Billie (Lee) Christiansen,
Theron “Ted” (Claudia) Twogood, 11 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
