Lou Ann (Lewis) Sessions, a devoted wife, mom, and dog lover whose bright spirit touched countless lives during her journey in life, passed away in the early morning of June 20th, 2025. Born on April 10, 1957 to Mavis Jeanne (Desher) and William Bradley Lewis in Ames, Iowa. She was raised by her grandmother Agnes Mae Desher, who played a pivotal role in shaping her entire life.
As the eldest of six children, Lou Ann grew up in Iowa, graduating from Boone High School in 1976. Her life took a significant turn in 1988 when she relocated to Utah, beginning a new chapter that would define her future. In October 1989, she met David Sessions, whom she married on September 6, 1996, forming a partnership built on shared adventures and mutual love. Together, they cherished camping trips whenever opportunity arose.
Her professional legacy was marked by remarkable dedication to The Road Home, where she made a positive impact in many people’s lives for 26 years (1992-2018). Beyond her husband and career, Lou Ann's heart belonged to her longtime dog friend Lacey whom she spent 14 years with (2009-2023). After entering a nursing home, she welcomed her stuffed animal dog Iris who brought comfort during challenging times. Disney also held a special place in her heart, with Minnie Mouse and Winnie the Pooh's Eeyore being her favorite characters.
In 2023, Lou Ann made the decision to relocate to Logan, Utah, when she entered a nursing home to be closer to her daughter and grandkids. This move proved especially meaningful as she got to enjoy regular visits from Emily and her grandkids, bringing joy and comfort to both Lou Ann and Emily. Their bond remained strong until the end, as Emily spent precious hours with her mother the evening before she passed away.
Despite facing numerous health challenges, including COPD, multiple hospitalizations, and various medical conditions, Lou Ann maintained her resilience until the end. Her final weeks were spent under hospice care beginning May 2025, where she continued to show strength despite her declining health.
She was preceded in death by her husband David. She survived by her daughter Emily Adams (Jacob), three grandkids, and her brother Wade Lewis.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends on June 30th, 2025 at 10 AM at the Bountiful Cemetery (2224 S 200 W), where Lou Ann will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
