Lorraine Maughan Murray Perkins

November 19, 1928 ~ May 30, 2016

Lorraine Perkins passed away peacefully Monday, May 30, 2016 surrounded by her family.

She was born November 19, 1928, in Wellsville, UT to Robert Murray and Edith Maughan Murray.

Lorraine married Ray Bell Perkins on September 25, 1946 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They resided in Roy most of their lives together and were married for 60 years.

Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, reading, bowling, playing Bingo and going out to eat with Ray. When all her children were at home, she had to make two batches of bread almost every day because the kids would use the first batch for scones! She embroidery most of her younger life and was recognized for that accomplishment. She was always there to watch the grandkids which she enjoyed and she would never say no.

Lorraine is survived by seven of eight children, Raylene Perkins, Pocatello, ID; Paul (Bonnie) Perkins, Layton; Betty Terry, Roy; Edith Crane, Hooper; Dennis Perkins, Ogden; Kathleen Moss, Hooper; Arlene (Roger) Tucker, South Ogden; 26 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Her sister's daughter, LaDawna (Delra) Talbot, spent a lot of summers with her. She is also survived by one brother, Robert B. (Pauline) Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Murray, Edith Maughan Murray; siblings Grant Murray, Arlene (Murray) Muir, George Murray, one daughter June (Wayne) Campbell; and two sons-in-law Wayne Campbell and Charlie Perkins.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 4 at 3 p.m. at the Wellsville Cemetery, 200 East 400 North, Wellsville. Friends and family may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family would like to especially thank the Heritage Park Care Center Staff and Brighton Hospice staff for her care.
