Lorna Hardy, a devoted mother, grandmother, and a kind soul, passed away on December 30, 2025, in West Haven after a prolonged illness. Born on October 15, 1946, in Idaho, Lorna's life was marked by her professional achievements as a logistical negotiator for F16 supplies, a role that showcased her intelligence and dedication.
Lorna embraced life fully, often traveling extensively and making Las Vegas a favorite destination, which she fondly referred to as her home away from home. She enjoyed exquisite memories of cruises with her family, particularly through the scenic landscapes of Hawaii and the Caribbean. These experiences highlighted her adventurous spirit and love for family time.
Those who knew Lorna recognized her as a sassy yet quiet individual, whose kindness and attentiveness were especially evident in her role as a mother and grandmother. She took immense pride in her family, celebrating their accomplishments and providing unwavering support.
Lorna is survived by her beloved family: her children, Jerry (Sheri) and Debbie; grandchildren, Tracy (Miranda), Cory (Chelsie), Cody, Haylee (KC); and great-grandchildren, Zayden, Kaedence, Ollie, and Gunnar. She is also survived by her siblings, Sharilyn, Bruce, Arlene (Dave), and Janet (Randy).
Lorna was predeceased by her husband, David Hardy, cherished parents Clyde and Marion Simons, and brothers Kent, and Clyde and Elaine Simons, and brother in law Dennis.
Her memory will be treasured, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Lotus Park and of Independence Hospice, specifically her caregiver Amy.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd., South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S.
