Lois Kelly Stolzenburg, 88, passed away January 19th, 2024, in Syracuse Utah. Lois was born in Pocatello Idaho on August 16th, 1935, to Raymond and Estella Kelly. Lois grew up in Vallejo California where her father worked at the Mare Island Shipyards as a welder. She grew up in a gospel centered home with her brother Bob, her older sister Shirlene and younger sister Barbara.
While attending a basketball banquet in the bay area, Lois met William Albert Stolzenburg and at the age of 20, the two fell in-love and were married and sealed for time and all eternity on March 20, 1956, in the Salt Lake City Temple. The couple brought four beautiful children into the world. In 1990, after 34 years of marriage, Bill lost his battle with leukemia.
Lois served as a Sister Missionary, Relief Society President, Primary teacher, Young Women’s President among other callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Lois had a passion for travel and visited countless historical sites throughout the world, including Europe and Israel. She loved to tell stories about her ancestors and family. She loved being a friend.
Those proceeding Lois in death are, Husband Bill, Brother Bob Kelly, Sister Shirlene Ripplinger. Lois is survived by her Sister Barbara Grover, her children Steven (Lisa) Stolzenburg, Linda (Gary) Sase, Judy (Bernie) Meservey and Gary Stolzenburg, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Lois and Bill undoubtedly left behind a legacy that will last throughout eternity and forever will be missed in mortality.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Beehive Homes Assisted living in Syracuse where Lois spent the last chapter of her life.
