Lois B. Hess was born September 15, 1927, the 6th of 7 children, to Ira D. and Emma Lyman Brown in Logan, Utah. She attended school and graduated from Logan High School. She married Max E. Hess on December 15, 1948, in the Logan Temple. They moved to California, where they raised their son, Steven P. Hess and three daughters, JoDee I. Casdorph, Patricia A. Arthurs, and Vickie L. Barker.
She was very active and loved to serve in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and had a very strong testimony. She served as both her Ward and Stake Sunday School Secretary for many years and loved to substitute as a church teacher. She and her husband, Max, served two service missions and were called to be temple workers in the Ogden Temple. They enjoyed their callings very much and loved to serve the Lord.
She was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for her daughters, including their wedding dresses. She was also a proficient crocheter and knitter. She also loved to work on jigsaw puzzles, framing them to give to family members. She lived a very full life devoted to her family and faith. She is survived by her daughters, JoDee (Dave) Casdorph, Patricia (Terrence) Arthurs; her sister-in-law, Donna Ferguson; 21 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was greeted home with much love and celebration by her husband, Max; her son, Max; her son Steven P. Hess, and his wife, Sharon Cleaver Hess; her daughter, Vickie L. Barker and her husband, Robert Barker; a granddaughter, Angelina Hess; both parents, her 4 brothers, both sisters, and their spouses.
What a joyous time they are having right now.
The family would like to thank Intermountain Home Care and Hospice for their care and comfort during our difficult time.
