Logan David Jones

December 4, 1987 — August 18, 2025

Logan David Jones passed peacefully in his sleep at the age of 37 in Bountiful, Utah. He was born in Payson, Utah on December 4, 1987, to David Vernon Jones and Janalee Sperry Jones. He was the eldest of six children who all admired him for the well of knowledge that he was. Logan spent his life learning. He was endearingly referred to by those who love him as a “walking Google” because he knew a little something about everything.

Logan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a Church Mission in Des Moine, Iowa and loved the people that he served. He also loved his time serving as a volunteer firefighter for South Weber City. Throughout the entirety of his life, Logan never stopped finding ways to serve his loved ones. Logan worked in cutting concrete and he was exceptionally strong. He frequently used his strength to help in any way he could, from helping family members move, to helping his Grandma make her Christmas candy. If help was needed, he was first in line to volunteer.

He was an incredibly gifted cook. And he never did anything halfway. We always looked forward to whatever he was bringing to the party, because it was going to be made with great time and effort. He took pride in making delicious food. Many of his younger siblings' favorite memories with him were made in the kitchen, learning from Logan.

Logan was adventurous. During his life that adventurous spirit took him to Guatemala, through mudruns, and hiking trips. He was always down to try something new. Sometimes that meant repelling and paintball gun fights, and sometimes it meant eating crickets and trying to get other people to eat them as well. Logan was fun. He encouraged the people around him to branch out and try new things. Everyone who loves him will miss that push. It was good for us all.

Being the oldest, Logan had a natural gift with babies. He was an amazing uncle who loved to hold his nieces and nephew. He had a funny sense of humor and was known for being a tease. His laugh was jolly and contagious. Some might describe him as a pineapple. He had a gruff and prickly exterior, but inside he was unbelievably sweet. Logan loved deeply. And in return he was and still is deeply loved.

Logan is survived by his loving parents, David and Janalee Jones; siblings, Megan (Eric) Bailey, Kyle (Madison) Jones, Emilee (Andrew) Oliveria, Heidi (Joshua) Miller, and Mandy (Carter) Knight; his five nieces and nephew, Jason, Olivia, Ruby, Millie and Violet; and his maternal grandparents, John and Terrill Sperry. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Phil and Joan Jones.
