Lloyd William Haven
Our loving grandfather and great-grandfather Lloyd William Haven, 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at his home in Ogden. Lloyd was born on August 25, 1917 to Wilford and Sarah Young Haven in Morgan, Utah.
He served in the Army during World War II. He married the love of his life Amanda Jane Leavitt on May 23, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 21, 1988. Lloyd and Amanda raised their son Brett and their grandson Michael and helped raise their great-granddaughter Charitee. Amanda passed away on November 27, 2010.
Lloyd loved to create with wood. He was a wonderful carpenter and craftsman. Lloyd was a very giving person. He was always doing something for others.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving in the Boy Scouts and earned several awards including the Silver Beaver Award which is the highest award in the Council Scouting program.
Lloyd is survived by his grandson, Michael Duke Haven; great-grandson, Dyson Michael Haven and great-granddaughter, Charitee Lanesse Haven and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda; son, Brett William Haven; parents, brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Rock Cliff 5th Ward, 300 Iowa. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
