Lisa Rock Taylor

August 31, 1954 ~ December 29, 2015

On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, we lost our beloved mother, adoring grandmother, beautiful sister and devoted friend, Lisa Rock Taylor, after a sudden and courageous battle with cancer.

She was born August 31, 1954 in Brigham City, Utah, the second of five children, to Jesse Ronald and Patricia Jones Rock. She was raised and educated in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1972.

On November 13, 1976, Lisa married Nolan Bert Taylor. From this union two incredible boys were born, Michael Bert Taylor and Robert Joseph Taylor. She was always extremely proud of her boys! Although, Lisa and Bert divorced, they remained good friends, focusing on family unity and love.

Her government career spanned most of her adult life. She was employed at Hill Air Force Base, specializing in hazardous material packaging and later in ICBM propulsion systems.

Lisa was beautiful, compassionate, intelligent, dedicated, fun-loving, impeccable, generous, and had a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and her laugh was contagious.

She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain. Ever the accommodating hostess, Lisa loved family gatherings. She would spare no expense or effort to provide for those she held dear. She loved to bake and her granddaughter, even at age three, has loved learning the technique of baking cookies with her “Ga-Ga”. Lisa took great pride in her yard; the trees and flowers, which flourished with her loving care and hard work, were admired by many. Her favorite times were spent at Bear Lake, Newport Beach, Las Vegas and anywhere her family could be found.

She has left us with cherished memories and immeasurable love. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her tremendously!

Lisa is survived by her loving sons, Michael (Rebecca), Robert (Gabby); her adorable granddaughter, Kylee, whom Lisa loved with all of her heart; former husband, Bert; and her siblings, Becky Jeppesen, Jesse (DaNae) Rock, Steve (Valerie) Rock and Jon Rock (Patrick Dela Cruz); also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, who all loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents.

We wish to thank the staff at Season’s Assisted Living for their skillful and tender care of Lisa.

Honoring Lisa’s wishes, a Memorial Service will be held in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Lisa’s name to the Humane Society of Utah, www.utahhumane.org
