Linda Mayes

Linda Kay Mayes passed away on the morning of January 8, 2022. She was born October 1, 1950 in Macomb, Illinois to Merton and Faye Perrigo.

You will live forever in us, the strength you taught us. You will live through our actions and memories made. The world has lost a woman with a heart of gold. She helped anyone without care for herself. Loved with every inch of her being. And was the Queen of the Witches with a B. Mother of five, wife, grandma, great-grandma, second mom. Sister, aunt, and friend. She was our rock, our glue, with a contagious laugh and smile.

She left us too soon. You will always be missed. Until we meet again. Love you to the moon and back.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, son and cousin. She is survived by her husband, Rick Mayes, son, David Mayes (Tamie), daughter, Keeley Jorgensen (Jonny), Brad Mayes (Dee), Jason Mayes (Kristy), 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Ward.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Syracuse South Stake Center, 3065 South Bluff Road.  A final farewell will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the church.
