Linda Hoff

Linda Anne Phelps Hoff, age 78, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2011 in Bountiful, Utah.

Linda was born on March 18, 1933 in Weston, West Virginia to Pearl and Lewis Monroe Phelps, the oldest of five children. She grew up in Ohio, New York, Illinois and Oklahoma. She attended the University of Tulsa where she met her sweetheart, Earl Hoff. They were married in Tulsa on August 30, 1952. Linda and Earl raised their family of six children in Tulsa and Bartlesville, Oklahoma and in Bountiful, Utah.

Linda was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in numerous church positions, as well as various civic organizations. She served as a temple worker in the Dallas, Texas Temple. She loved nature and was a Master Gardener.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and John; her husband of 55 years, Earl Hoff; and her beloved daughter Kathleen. She is survived by two sisters Mary Sasfy of Lighthouse Point, FL and Roberta Gibbons of Santa Fe, NM; five children: Lisa Purdie and her husband Mark of Centerville, UT; Patricia Meredith and her husband Steve of Ephraim, UT; James Hoff and his wife Jalair of Highlands Ranch, CO; Carolyn Johnson and her husband Kurt of Bluffdale, UT; and Jonathan Hoff and his wife Rebekah of Spring, TX; 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Family would like to express our sincere thanks to Welcome Home Assisted Living, especially Kris and Sandy, for their loving care.

A private family funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2011. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
