Linda was our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, businesswoman, and joint owner of Rumley Financial. She loved to dabble in many interests, including flying, skydiving, skiing, traveling, and collecting fine art. This included an impressive porcelain horse collection for her curio cabinet, proudly displayed for all to see.
Mom loved animals, especially dogs! She had many furry companions to protect and love her. She affectionately called them the guys. Mom had everything from customized dog mats and beds to dog portraits, kennels, and treats as a staple in her beautiful home in Belen, NM. She would brush their teeth and clean their faces before bedtime.
She loved Christmas. Mom would adorn her home with a large Christmas tree and all the trimmings. As kids (Bruce, Jill, and Todd), we had the most fantastic Christmas Day celebrations. Yes, Mom spoiled us on Christmas, and it was filled with a sense of love, joy, and warmth.
Mom was generous to many charitable organizations.
Our mother loved the mountains, especially Parleys Canyon, Utah. Grandpa Olsen (1847-1903) bought land to farm as an immigrant and convert from Norway. Every summer, we would travel as a family to Salt Lake City/Bountiful to visit our grandparents. A highlight was visiting Grandma Earl and going up Parleys Canyon for family reunions on the 24th of July.
Linda had two important men in her life: William Gerald Burningham, our dad, and Don Rumley. She was a loving wife to Don until his untimely death in 2015. Mom loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she would shower them with cards and gifts on their birthdays and at Christmas.
Linda Ann Burningham is survived by her children: Bruce Gerald Burningham (Janet), Leslie Jill Davies (John); 10 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Todd William Burningham (son), Margaret Elizabeth Earl Bullock (mother), Harris Henrichsen Pihl (father), Karen Elizabeth Hansen (sister), and many other beloved friends and relatives.
