Lily Florence Barker

Lily Florence Barker, 21 months of Hyde Park, Utah returned to her heavenly home on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lily spent her life valiantly kicking CASK, but ultimately this super rare neurological disease overcame her little body and she was called home to heaven. 

Lily was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on July 12, 2021 to Burdette and Holly Barker. From the very beginning, Lily was a fighter. Born with a rare genetic disorder, CASK MICPCH, meant that life would not be easy for her. She had many physical and cognitive limitations during her mortal journey, but that would not stop her from being the happiest girl. Her beautiful smile was contagious. Lily taught us to find joy in the simple things. She loved music and to lay outside in the grass and look up at the trees. She loved shiny beads so much and moving her hands back and forth through her bead wall. She adored her siblings and loved listening to their voices. She loved to swing and be snuggled endlessly, and we were more than happy to accommodate, even if it meant that the dishes stayed in the sink a little bit longer. Lily was pure sunshine and she brightened the world by being here. We will forever be grateful that she chose to come to our little family. 

Lily is survived by her parents, and her siblings Azalea, Everett, Violet, and baby Ben.

A Celebration of Life for Lily will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Park 4^th Ward chapel, 42 West 200 South, Hyde Park, Utah.  Friends may visit with family Friday from 9:00 to 10:30:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

A private burial will follow for the family at the Logan, Utah cemetery.

A live stream will be available for friends and family who are unable to attend Lily’s services in person.
