Lila Faun Garlick Seely Albrechtsen passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday October 24, 2025. She was born April 20, 1926 in Fairview, Utah the daughter of Ira and Hilda V. Rigby Garlick. She attended schools in Fairview, Utah and graduated from North San Pete High School.
She married Merril W. Seely in Hastings, Nebraska on February 4, 1944, they were later married in the Manti Temple on April 27, 1948. Merril passed away on February 18, 1985. Lila later met Howard Albrechtsen at the L.D. S. singles dances. They were later married on September 29, 1990.
Lila was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She lived a life of service to the Lord, family, neighbors, and friends.
She was an excellent cook, making the best of everything. She gifted unique quilts, baby quilts and doll clothes selling them to many residents of Layton. Lila had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She loved her flowers, peas, raspberries, corn, and all her plants.
Lila enjoyed reading books, scriptures, biographies and books written by the leaders of the church. She tried to read at least 100 books a year.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Henry M.) O’Keefe, Naomi (Kent) Robinson, Merrilyn (Dee) Gledhill, Stan (Nancy) Seely, Earl (Natalie) Seely, Kathryn Seely, Howard (Donette) Albrechtsen, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, her brother, Paul (Doris) Garlick, sister, Irene Greenhaul, and sister-in-law Dorthea Garlick.
Lila was preceded in death by her husbands, Merril W. Seely and Howard Albrechtsen, her parents, Ira and Hilda Garlick, two brothers, Calvin (Marylou) Garlick, Vaun Garlick, her son Loyd Seely, grandson Michael Seely, brothers-in-law, Ivan Anderson, Norman Greenhaul, stepchildren, Carl and Janie Albrechtsen and Susan Anderson.
We would like to thank the angels of Inspiration Hospice that helped with our mother’s care. Their love and caring service was amazing.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
Interment will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Utah.
