Letitia "Tish" Imagene Rogers

November 8, 1929 — September 13, 2023

Salt Lake City

Letitia Imagene Rogers, 93 our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away with her son by her side on September 13, 2023.

Letitia or Grandma Tishie as we all knew her by was born on November 8, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah where she lived her entire life. Her parents were Father Dirk Gout and Mother Ima Russell. She graduated from West High School and went on to marry Thomas Rogers September 29, 1948. She took on the role of being a mother and homemaker to three sons. John Thomas Rogers (Mary), Russell Gene Rogers (LueDon), and Robert Lee Rogers.

Tish loved caring for her boys, she belonged to a bowling league for many years, and had a great love for animals. Her Boston Terriers Pixie and Buffy and her Shihtzu Roxy were spoiled right along with all the wild birds in the neighborhood. They always had an abundance of peanuts and breadcrumbs waiting for them every day. Tishie always wanted to make sure everyone had a full belly. She left sack lunches for the lawn boys, cold sodas in the mailbox each day for the mailman, and sacks of candy for the medical assistants at Spring Gardens. As a kid you never left her house hungry.

As the grandkids came along, they became her true loves. She was always involved in anything they did. Weekly, Grandpa Tom and Grandma Tishie would show up at your house with sweet treats and they never missed a sporting event. Grandma Tishie loved her grandkids with all her heart. They all looked forward to their visits and loved sleepovers at her house, except bath time. Tishie loved her Utah Jazz and of course loved her trips to Wendover. Those slot machines seemed to call her name!

After Grandpa Tom passed in 2003 Tishie never lost her love and devotion for her family. As the grandkids grew and had kids of their own, she was equally devoted to the great grandkids. They were the light of her life. Wendover trips turned into trips to Reams Grocery Store where she would win several stuffed animals from the claw machine and hand them out to the great grandkids. They loved it!

Letitia is survived by her brother Fred Gout (Lecreita), sons Russell Gene Rogers (LueDon), Robert Lee Rogers, and daughter in law Mary Rogers. Six grandchildren, Carrie Lee Koncar (Kole), Lori Ann Koncar (Dave), Joslyn Rogers, Brooklyn Rogers (Bill King), Chase Rogers (Anna), and Makena Rogers. She has eight great grandchildren, Sidnie Koncar, Lauryn Koncar, Kole Koncar Jr., Nick Koncar, Kash Koncar, Ellington Rogers, Thomas Rogers, and Georgia Rogers. Also, many nieces and nephews.

Letitia is preceded in death by Father, Dirk Gout, Mother, Ima Russell, husband Thomas Rogers, son John Thomas Rogers, seven sisters, Mary Gout, Susannah Gout, Anna Gout, Grace Gout, May Gout, Carol Gout, Barbara Gout, two brothers, Richard Gout and John Gout.

Letitia Rogers will be cremated, and a short graveside service will be held on October 12, 2023, at 12 pm. The location is Valley View Cemetery, 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, UT.

We would like to take the time to say how much we have appreciated all the loving care Tishie was given during her stay at Spring Gardens Assisted Living. She made many friends during her stay there. She loved her BINGO buddies and loved Happy Hour at Spring Gardens. We would also like to thank the Hospice team from Canyon Home Care and Hospice. Much love and thanks to Dani her nurse and Juana her daily caregiver that cared for Tishie the last six months.

Please take the time to view the sweet slideshow Sidnie Koncar has put together.
