Lee Warren Moss, 97, of Bountiful, passed away of natural causes on the morning of June 9,2025.
Born to Alice Lee and Warren Moss in Bountiful, Utah, on October 30, 1927, Lee was one of four children.
After graduating from High School, Lee enlisted in the United States Army in May of 1945 and was honorably discharged in March of 1947 as a Sergeant at Fort Lewis, Washington. He married the love of his life, Loraine Law, on June 10, 1948, in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their marriage lasted one day short of 77 years. Lee received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah.
As an active member of the Church, Lee served missions until he was 92 years old, often renewing his mission calls by several years. In addition to Performing in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission, he was a docent at “This is the Place” Monument, the LDS Family History Library, the Mormon History Museum, and as a tour guide at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City for four separate missions. He also served as an Ordinance worker in both the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples of the Church.
Throughout his career, Lee served in various managerial duties with Mountain Bell, including as the state head of Human Resources. He was very involved in his community, serving with the Kiwanis Club, the Lions Club, and with the Chamber of Commerce.
He was also a volunteer recruitment manager with the Salt Lake City Olympics, a member of Eta Kappa Nu, and enjoyed remodeling, landscaping, gardening, investment and finance, water-skiing, square dancing, and reading historical and spy novels.
Lee and his wife, Loraine, lived all over. Lee spent his first 17 years in West Bountiful, 2 years with the Oregon State University ROTC and on active-duty assignments up at Fort Lewis, Washington, 2 and a half years in Salt Lake City, where he was married, and then, with Loraine, they lived in 20 homes after marriage, spending one year in Bountiful, 18 months in Centerville, two and a half years in in Cedar City, one year in Golden and another year in Pueblo, Colorado, 18 months in Butte, Montana, two years in Ogden, another 10 years in Bountiful, 18 months in Littleton, Colorado, 4 years in Boise, Idaho, and all of his last 43 years in his hometown of Bountiful, Utah.
Lee is survived by his dear wife, Loraine, Bountiful; children, Stanley W. (Diane) Moss, Eagle, Idaho; Richard L. (Marcell) Moss, Provo; Gary Lynn (Ocee) Moss, Longmont, Colorado; LouAnn (Marvin) Quist, Meridian, Idaho; Karen Corbitt, Belleview, Washington; and Carolee (John) Calvin, Kaysville; 25 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and by his sister, Lillian Moss Thomson, Bountiful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jack Udell and Larry Dean Moss; and by his son-in-law, Don Corbitt.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Mueller Park Ward, 1800 E Mueller Park Road, Bountiful.
Friends may visit family on Thursday, June 19, from 6- 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N 400 E, Bountiful, and on Friday morning from 8:30- 9:30 a.m. at the Church.
Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
