OGDEN a€" Lee Roy Andersen, 93, passed away peacefully with his daughter at his side at the George Wahlen Veteran''s Home on March 8, 2012 of natural causes.

Lee Roy was born in Brigham City, Utah on May 3, 1918 to Joseph Lester and Olivia F. Andersen. He attended schools in Brigham City, graduating from Box Elder High School. He attended Salt Lake Business College and graduated from Utah State University. He married Betty Lou Baldridge of Rock Springs, Wyoming, in the Logan LDS Temple on May 9, 1941. They were married for 69 years. Betty passed away on October 11, 2010.

He served in the U.S. Army in 1945 and worked for General Mills Company. He worked as a State Farm Insurance Agent for 40 years, retiring in 1984.

Lee Roy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Highland Ward where he was a High Priest. He served as a Branch President and High Counselor. He also served as Ward Clerk and Stake Sunday School Superintendent.

He leaves behind four daughters and their spouses, Nancy and Errol Smith, Spanish Fork; Linda and Mike Gardner, Kaysville; Jeannine and Gary Felix, Roy; and Carolyn Raines, South Ogden; 18 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; one brother, Grant (Frances) Andersen, Fair Oaks, California; and three sisters, Jneil Madsen, Provo; LaRee (John) Carter, Garland, UT; and Neone (Floyd) Stenquist, Layton, Utah.

Preceding Lee Roy in death were his parents; brothers, Oleen Andersen and J F Andersen; wife, Betty; grandson, Chad Raines; and great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose Colangelo.

The family expresses their thanks to the staff at Peachtree Place, George E. Wahlen Ogden Veteran''s Home and Hospice for Utah for their tender, loving care of our father.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
