LaVor “Junior” Bowden, age 73, peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on the evening of Thursday January 15, 2026, where he was joyfully reunited with his beloved son, Jason LaVor Bowden.
Junior was born on March 16, 1952, in Ogden, Utah, to LaVor and Maxine (Middleton) Bowden. He was raised in West Warren, Utah, alongside his six siblings, learning early the values of hard work and family. Junior graduated from Weber High School in 1972, where he excelled as an avid football player and a decorated state wrestling champion.
Junior met Toni Lee O’Neal in 1974 and instant spark ignited. The two were later married on September 13, 1976, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Together they shared 49 years of devotion, and unwavering partnership.
Junior was a dedicated business owner of Drain Free Rotor Service for 49 years, providing faithfully for his family and serving his community with honesty and pride. His work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Junior and Toni built a loving home in Roy, Utah, where they raised their three sons. He found great joy in God’s creations and especially loved hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, skiing, and spending peaceful time on his property in Duchesne County, Utah.
Above all, Junior’s greatest blessing and purpose in life was his family.
Junior was preceded in death by his cherished son, Jason LaVor Bowden; his parents, LaVor and Maxine Bowden; and his twin sisters, Flora Skinner and Nora Valdez.
He is lovingly survived by his dedicated wife of 49 years, Toni; his sons, Jerric and Lance; his brother, Raymond; his sisters, Leola Fordham, Lois Wheeler and Nola Mitchell; his treasured granddaughters, Makayla, Shaylie, Taycie, Anna, and River; his precious great-granddaughter, Desi; and his beloved friend, Shirley Tarbet.
A celebration of Junior’s life and legacy will be held open-house on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at the LDS Church located at 3776 W. 5375 S., Roy, Utah. Where a luncheon will be lovingly provided by the 27th Ward.
Junior’s family would like to thank everyone for reaching out and offering support during this difficult time.
While we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal families and the peace of knowing this is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary.
