LaVor (Junior) Bowden, 73, was reunited with his son Jason LaVor Bowden in Heaven on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Junior was born on March 16, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to LaVor Hyde Bowden and Maxine (Middleton)Bowden. He and his six siblings were raised on their farm in West Warren. He graduated from Weber High School in 1971, where he was a football player and wrestling state champion.
Junior met Toni Lee O’Neal in 1974. They later eloped in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on September 13, 1976. Junior became a proud businessowner of Drain Free Rotor Service in 1977. He built a home in Roy, Utah for his family in 1982, where he and his wife raised three sons.
Junior was a hard worker who loved hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, water skiing, four wheeling and spoiling his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and friends at his Fruitland, Utah property.
Junior was a generous man with a kind heart. He was always willing to help others without expecting anything in return. He was a stubborn old-school cowboy who believed in hard work, plain talk, and doing things the way they’d always been done. Junior will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on through those who love him. May he rest easy.
Junior is preceded in death by his son Jason, parents LaVor and Maxine, twin sisters Nora and Flora, many friends and beloved animals. He is survived by his brother Raymond, sisters Leola, Nola and Lois, his devoted wife of 49 years, Toni, sons, Jerric and Lance, granddaughters MaKayla, Shaylie, Taycie, Anna and River, and great-granddaughter Desi.
Junior was a member of the LDS church. An open-house celebration of life will be held on January 31, 2026, from 2pm to 5pm at the 27th ward which he attended.
