Lavetta "Jane" Guerrero

March 17, 1937 — March 15, 2022

Lavetta “Jane” Guerrero

Lavetta “Jane” Guerrero couldn’t wait to get home to her husband, Ernest, who journeyed to heaven 7.5 weeks prior. Married for 70 years, their vows withstood the tests of time, the heartache of loss, and the increasing burden of caring for one another in sickness. They loved each other. They stuck together.

On March 15, 2022, Ernest was reunited with his Tweet-Tweet just in time to celebrate her 85th birthday in their perfect bodies in paradise!

Jane married Ernest at 14 years old and did the best she could keeping the house and raising five children. Her porcelain skin never wrinkled after decades caring for her children, nieces and nephews, and later generations of grandchildren. Jane was an excellent cook and coupon clipper. She loved making jewelry and sewing when her fingers were still strong.

Most of all, she loved Jesus. Jane’s Bible is worn - highlighted, underlined, and the margins filled with heartfelt prayers. She prioritized spending time with her Savior, Jesus Christ, meditating on scripture and praying with the Holy Spirit. She had her share of life’s struggles in marriage, child-rearing, and health, but her faith persevered through the end. And she will be blessed!

“Charm is deceptive, beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:10-31

Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Guerrero; son, Dennis Guerrero; daughter, Linda Loucks. She is survived by her children, Ernest (Sarah) Guerrero, Carrey (Rosie) Guerrero, Guy (Lupe) Guerrero, Terry (Michael) McMahon, Ruben Guerrero; 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
