“We love you” dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; Laurelle Rae Salcido, passed away at home on Thursday, March 1, 2012 in North Salt Lake, Davis, Utah after fighting a long battle with liver disease. She and her wonderful husband John (Lonewolf) Salcido were married February 15, 1998 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked hard and took great care of her especially during her illness. “I could not have asked for a better husband” she said. Mom was born June 24, 1940 in Port Orchard, Kitsap, Washington to Vera Fern Drake and Ray Claude Angle. Mom and her sister Linda Hanson grew up on her grandparent’s farm in Washington State and later moved to Playa del Rey California where she was raised by her new loving father Leroy Schieler. She was a baton drill team member for Glendale High School. Later she finished a variety of educational passions including cosmetology school, interior decorating, and floral design. She loved people, arts & crafts, animals, the beach, and camping. Mom liked flowers, gardening, baking, painting, and canning. Friends and relatives would say she would always laugh and was one of the happiest people they knew, even in some of the most challenging circumstances. She had the most positive and happy heart and said we should have a party instead of a funeral for her. She would reach out in Christ- like love to invite both stranger and friend to join our family for dinner, especially at Thanksgiving and other holidays. Her greatest pride and joy was her children and grandchildren. Mom and John have a combined family of 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren: Robert Heppler, Michael & Janet Rybin with their children: Crystal, Brett, Benjamin, Matthew Nathanael, Emma, and grandchildren: Trina, and Curtis. Colleen & Roger Bradshaw with their children: Joshua, Tony, Angie, Jeanne, and grandchildren Collin, Amanda, Samantha, Walter, Roger, Liahona, Micah, and Adam. Linda Carter with her children: Blake, Melanie, Curtis, Tyler, Kyle, and grandchild: Talin. Rachel & Mark Cowley with their children: Sophia, Gabriel, and Jesse. John Mark & Audria Salcido with their children: Jazmin, Auriel and grandchild: Colette. Special thanks to her daughter Linda Carter and her children for their countless hours of love and care for mom.
