Laurel Mae Lister
March 12, 1929 ~ December 18, 2021
Laurel Mae Lister, 92 passed away December 18, 2021 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.
She was born to Richard Albert “Bert” and Marilda Thompson Lister on March 12, 1929 in Park City, Utah. Laurel has always been a fighter. She was born at only 2 lbs and they did not expect her to survive.
Laurel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Savior and held many callings in the church. She faithfully served a 2 ½ year mission to Norway.
She graduated from Weber State College with a Bachelor Degree in Education and was part of a sorority.
Laurel was an avid crocheter and she loved needlepoint as well. She made blankets to dresses and everything in between. She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. She taught them many things, such as cooking, crafts, budgeting, to loving the scriptures and the Savior. Laurel was selfless, hardworking, and very generous with a little bit of a stubborn streak. She was such an example of Christ like love, and she will be greatly missed.
Laurel is survived by her sister, Cherrie (Doug) Jacob; nieces, Christie Ochoa, Machelle (Brian) Erickson, Heather (Derric) Morse, and Nancy Ann Hard; nephews, Spencer (Angela) Jacob and David (Debbie) Lister; 15 great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
