Larry Theadore Petersen

Larry Theadore Petersen, 77, passed away peacefully at his home in Syracuse, Utah on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles T. Petersen and Florence N. Black.

Larry married Shirley Mae Davis on July 30, 2006, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their home in Syracuse where he lived until his passing. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 until 1971. He attended Utah State University and worked for Varian Medical Systems for 30 years.

He loved to hunt, fish, camp and play cards. During his younger years he was a member of a Mountain Man organization and spent many summers going to Rendezvous and hunting with his muzzle loader. As time passed and tents were no longer an option, he and Shirley spent summers going on camping adventures in their trailer with family and friends Larry loved playing cards and going to dinner with a very special group of friends.

Larry is survived by his wife Shirley, 3 children, Christy, Jennifer and Nick, 3 stepsons and 5 siblings. 3 sisters; Marlene, Anita, and Nadine and 2 brothers Dennis and Dale, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence N. Black, Father, Charles T. Petersen and daughter Julie Petersen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse UT. Friends may visit with family on Friday prior to service from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
