On Sunday February 1, 2026, at the age of 94 years, Mrs. LaReah June Wright peacefully passed away at the Apple Village Assisted Living facility in Layton, UT. As the inevitable end of her mortal life drew near, she was indeed surrounded by the love of her family members until the time came as her spirit rose again, walking into the arms of our Lord God Almighty.
June “Bunny” came into this world on a beautiful Saturday of May 23, 1931. She was born in Clinton, UT to Velma Clontz (Jones) and was the oldest of her five siblings. She was raised in a tight-knit family of very caring aunts and uncles. Helen and Steve Stevens, Mable and Joe Colledge, and ‘Russell’ and Dot Clontz were true members of our nation’s greatest generation. June had an unending love and respect for her elders, her numerous cousins, and a very special place in her heart for her Grandma Clontz.
June lived a long and eventful life, marked by a devotion to her family and local community which will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. On September 9, 1950, June married the love of her life, Mr. Stanley D. Wright. They built their lives together over the next 50 years between their home in Roy, and their little farm in Hooper. These were the places that forged the lives of their three sons Roger Stanley, Nolan Eugene, and Alan Dale, who spent much of their time working trades and living alongside their parents. Stan and June loved tending to their farm and livestock over the years, which consisted of horses, rabbits (many), goats, cows, geese, sheep and more. Many memories were made there with their boys, and soon to follow, grandchildren.
June was a founding member of the local Neighborhood Watch program, to which her kitchen was often considered the Head Quarters of, due to its late hours, bottomless coffee, and welcoming atmosphere. If you wanted to know what was happening in the City of Roy, you just had to stop by and share a story of your own.
As time moved on and their family grew, Stan and June faced the most tragic of hardships any parents could, the loss of their children. The couple were able to survive through their hardships and became pillars of strength and resilience to their friends and family.
June loved to travel with her husband and grandkids, where they took various trips to Yellowstone, Arizona, Nevada, Mexico and more. She was able to help raise all three of their grandchildren (and others) including great-grandchildren that soon followed, loving every moment of it! She was truly a model caregiver, performing at her finest! June and Stan later moved to Clinton in 2010 to live out their golden years.
June was preceded in death by her husband Stanley (2017), their sons: Roger (1984); Alan (1989); and Nolan (2015). Her sisters: Luana (Nolan) Harris (2000); Barbara (Donald) Clemente (2025), and of recent, her brother Jack (LuJean) Jones (2026).
June's memory and life carries on in the hearts and lives of her surviving family and grandchildren: Brandon (Marne) Wright, Rocky (D'Nache) Wright, Jade (Shannon Richison) Ellis. Her six great grandchildren: Riley Wright; Alan and Jack Wright; Hailee Ellis, Hunter Ellis, and Austin Richison. Younger brother Daniel R (Judy) Jones.
A very special thank you to everyone at Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton, including Hospice, who cared for June in her final years. Our grandma was genuinely loved by all the staff.
