Lapreal Huntley, 60, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. She was born on July 14, 1951 to Robert Nello and Laretha Pearl (Goss) Colecchi in Richmond, California. She graduated from Pinole Valley High School, Pinole, California in 1969. She married Steven Ray Huntley on November 18, 1989 in Elko, Nevada. Lapreal moved from the Bay area to Ogden to be close to family where she has lived for the last 33 years.
She retired after 30 years from OPD, the only civilian to have retired with that many years. She received numerous awards and recognitions from TAC and OPD.
She was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and playing with her furry kids "Kodiak and Kenai". Lapreal took pleasure in quilting, going to the swap meet, and doing various crafts with her children.
Lapreal is survived by husband, Steven R. Huntley, Ogden; son, Robert Nello (Jennifer) McMillan, Ogden; daughter, Jaime Rondelle (James) Doxey, Ogden; 6 grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Chris) Hunter, Diamond Springs, California; and Jerry (Delores) Hunter, Mariposa, California; and sister, Laretha Apodaca, Ogden.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nello Colecchi; mother, Laretha Pearl Colecchi; and brother, Robert Hunter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
