Lamont F. (Monte) Dowden
Lamont Forbes Dowden of Layton, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the age of 77. He was born on December 23, 1943, to Charles F. Dowden and Virginia B. Done in Salt Lake City.
He grew up in Layton and graduated form Davis High School.
Monte was a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He married his wife Patricia in 1968. She passed away on December 24, 1983. He never stopped missing her. After returning from Vietnam, he went to work at Hill Air Force Base, retiring after many years of service.
Monte enjoyed going to the local car shows with his friends, Kevin, Glen and his brother Marvin. He loved showing his classic 1970 Chevrolet El Camino and won many awards over the years. It was his pride and joy. Monte was a very giving person.
He is survived by his friend and companion, Kathy Chipman and two furry friends Toby and Christal, brother Marvin Dowden (Marianne), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his parents, brother Gary and nephew Randy (Lourdes) Dowden.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
The family would like to thank Mallory, Carly, Jackie from Hospice and Shanna a social worker, for the many hours they spent taking care of Monte in his time of need. Also, a special thank you to his friend and neighbor Stan, he had a special place in Monte’s life.
