Kent Mockli

LAYTON a€" Kent Mockli, 68, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the University of Utah Medical Center.

He was born February 11, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Leslie Karl and Donna Barton Mockli. He graduated from Davis High School, and also attended Weber State College.

Kent married Ilene Steele. They were later divorced.

He was a member of the LDS Church and was a lifelong member of the NRA.

He retired from HAFB after years working in the Munitions Dept. Kent loved hunting, bull riding, horseback riding, golf and rodeos. He loved horses and the cowboy way of life.

He is survived by his daughter, Michele Mockli, son, Kirt (Sharlene) Mockli, sisters, Karlene (Garry) Bennett, Jill (Bryan) Shiffer, Judy (Tom) Silvester, three grandchildren, Braden Mockli, Vanessa Cragun and Tess Marie Ross.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

The family would like to thank the lung transplant team and staff at the University of Utah Hospital for all their care and support. Special thanks to Dr. Barbara Cahill, Dr. Ramen, Tauni and Kelly.
