Kyle Scott Cottam

July 12, 1988 ~ April 24, 2016

Kyle Scott Cottam passed away on Sunday April 24, 2016.  He was born to Michael L. and Susan Dye Cottam on July 12, 1988 in Ogden, Utah. He was the light of their life.

Kyle graduated from Bonneville High School. He attended Westminster College and Weber State University.  Kyle started working at the Greenery Restaurant at the age of 16.   It was there he developed a strong work ethic.  He went to work at America First Credit Union where he was currently employed.

Kyle will be remembered as a very kind and sensitive person. Someone who in his everyday life went out of his way to always be considerate and respectful.  He treated everyone that way, no matter of their background. He displayed a great deal of empathy to people’s needs and feelings, always looking for ways to help or to be of service.  This was especially true when it came to his Grandparents.  His role as a companion, as well as a caregiver, went well beyond what one normally does for a grandparent. He was responsible and dependable at work and home.  Kyle was always there to help with a dinner party, take care of pets, yard work or whatever was thrown his way. He was comfortable with adults and enjoyed lively conversation about things going on in the world. Everyone was drawn to his generous, kind, warm personality. He was a fun kid to be around.

Kyle had an appreciation for art and architecture.  He loved and enjoyed beautiful things in nature as well as buildings and design.  He had a great eye for design and was a master at putting a room together.   Kyle also inherited a deep devotion to cars.  Like his father and grandfather Cottam, his passion for keeping up on the latest models, what was hot, new and exciting in the world of cars, was an important part of who he was.

Kyle is survived by his parents Michael and Susan Cottam, and his Grandmother Janice Cottam Hyde. He will be missed by his Aunts and Uncles: Vicky and Bob Jones, Rad & Kellie Dye, Steve & Kellie Dye.   Kyle was preceded in death by his Grandparents: Lyle Cottam and Katie & Scott Dye.

Friends may visit with family on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Private Graveside service will be held at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch on Saturday.

A Celebration of Kyle’s life will be held on Saturday April 30, 2016 at 4 pm at the Eccles Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Ave, Ogden.  All family and friends are invited and encouraged to attend.
