Kimberly Ann Kraus passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on November 28, 1965, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Orean and Jane Smith Brown.
She shared her life with her beloved husband, Kurt Walter Kraus Jr., whom she married on June 23, 1984, in Oley, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a loving family and created countless cherished memories.
A graduate of high school, Kim dedicated her career to nurturing the young minds of special needs children as a substitute teacher.
Throughout her journey, Kim lived in several places, including the warm landscapes of Homestead, Florida, the serene surroundings of Misawa, Japan, as well as at Hill Air Force Base and Clearfield in Utah. No matter where she lived, her heart always shone bright, filled with love for her family and friends, which remained at the core of her being.
Kim's life revolved around joyful moments spent with those she loved. She was an outgoing individual who brought laughter and warmth wherever she went. She knew the joy of cooking, the satisfaction of completing a puzzle, and the simple pleasure of reading a good book. Kim found tranquility and contentment in walks, and going shopping.
She is survived by her husband Kurt Walter Kraus Jr., her children: Jessica N. Kraus, Michael K. (Danielle K. Gallegos) Kraus, and Brittany A. Kraus. Kim was proud to be the grandmother of Dylan Kraus and Myla Kraus, cherishing every moment spent watching them grow and nurturing their dreams.
Kim is also survived by her loving siblings, Robin Seidel of Wyoming and Jim (Sue) Brown of Pennsylvania, along with five nieces and nephews, who will forever hold her memory dear.
Kimberly Ann Kraus will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift, reminding us all of the beauty found in life’s simple pleasures and the importance of family and friendship.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
