Listen to Obituary

Kim Moore, age 81, passed away January 30, 2026, with his wife by his side. He was born in Boulder City, Nevada to J. Reid and Beatrice Moore. Kim was the oldest of five brothers. Their family lived in many states during his upbringing, and ultimately settled in Ogden, Utah.

Kim graduated from Ben Lomond High School. He then attended Utah State University, Weber State University, and graduated from the University of Utah School of Pharmacy in 1969. After graduating from Pharmacy School, he joined the U.S. Army’s 328th General Hospital Reserve, achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. He served 7 years.

Kim met his wife, Jill, after coming home from working the summer at Lake Tahoe. He stopped off at his friend’s home and happened to spot Jill next door, sunbathing. It was love at first sight, as he jumped the five-foot-high rose hedge, promptly introduced himself and then asked her out.

Kim and Jill got married on August 12,1966, in Ogden, Utah. They would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year. Kim and Jill traveled throughout the world for 15 years prior to finally settling into parenthood. Their son Jeff was born in 1981, and the three of them continued their world travels.

Kim spent his career as a pharmacist and as a pharmaceutical sales representative throughout the Western States. Kim’s charm and sales skills earned him multiple awards. He briefly retired; however, retirement didn’t suit him. He returned to his roots as a pharmacist for a few years before fully retiring in 2017.

Throughout his life, Kim maintained an exercise regimen running trails and mountain biking. Anyone who knew Kim always described him as “kind.” He wanted to make you laugh, offering up lame “Dad jokes” on demand. He regularly amused those close to him with magic tricks and riddles.

Kim is survived by his loving wife and son; his daughter-in-law, Katchie; brothers, Ryan (Teena ) Moore, John (Adrienne) Moore, and Kelly (Laurie) Moore; sister-in-law, Jana (Eric) Hamilton; brother-in-law, Richard Douglass; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his youngest brother, Tom; his mother and father-in-law, Harold and Helen Pett; and sister-in-law, Jone Douglass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Kim’s honor, to: Trails Foundation Northern Utah TFNU. Donations can be made at www.tfnu.org/donation-form.
