On May 5th, 2026, Kevin Lee Lowder, 71, passed away peacefully in his home in Layton, Utah.
Kevin was born on March 19, 1955 to Ira Jay and Doris Rhees Lowder. He was driven by his intense curiosity about the natural world and how things work. His nickname, given to him by his good friends later in life, was “Tinker” because he was always working on something.
Kevin is survived by his seven children: Elizabeth Cardon, JoAnn Turner, Andrew Lowder, TJ Lowder, Jessica Lowder, Kaitlynn Lowder, and Jordan Lowder. Also, his siblings, Lewis Lowder (Raenee), Steven (RaDonna) Lowder , and Kathleen (Gary) Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two of his brothers, Gary Scott Lowder and Robert Ira Lowder.
Kevin’s advice after 71 years on this earth - “Don’t keep a bucket list. Do all the things you want to do between ages 20 and 50.”
Kevin passed after a long and brutal battle with heart failure. He endured many intense and painful medical interventions, including a heart transplant, and through it all showed us that yes, he truly is a Badass.
We are eternally grateful to those healthcare professionals who helped Kevin live the best and longest life he could while battling heart failure. Most notably, we would like to thank Dr. Kfoury and Sarge.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Kevin’s name to: Heart Services Intermountain Health https://give.intermountainfoundation.org/campaign/666913/donate
