Kevin Lynn Burnett passed away at his residence June 13, 2025. Born on December 30, 1954, in Ogden, Utah, the fourth of seven children to Arlyn and Barbara Burnett. Growing up with four brothers, Kevin developed a deep passion for sports. Whether playing competitive games at home or cheering on his favorite teams, he embraced the spirit of athletics with enthusiasm and joy.
Kevin’s faith was a guiding force throughout his life. From 1974 to 1976, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Saint Louis, Missouri. Kevin attended Brigham Young University where he developed exceptional skills in artistry which led to him being a talented brick mason. He was a devoted fan of the Utah Jazz, cheering on his team through every season. His lifelong love for sports, nurtured by playful competition with his brothers, remained a constant source of joy throughout his life.
On January 20, 1978, Kevin married and was sealed to the love of his life, JoAnn, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, love, and faith. Their journey began with the addition of four daughters before they moved to Richardson, Texas, in the early 1980s. There, they were blessed with three more children—two sons and a daughter. In 1988, they returned to Ogden, Utah, where their family continued to grow, welcoming three more daughters and a son into their loving home.
As a gifted artist, he had an incredible ability to capture life’s beauty through his drawings and paintings, portraits of family and children. He also found inspiration in the breathtaking landscapes of the Wasatch Front, painting stunning mountain views on canvas and metal. His artwork was not just a hobby but a true expression of his soul, leaving behind a legacy of creativity.
He shared his passion for the outdoors with his children by taking his family on hikes in the mountains and camping trips.
