Kenneth Verl Shurtz

Kenneth Verl Shurtz, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 peacefully in his sleep from the causes of cancer.

Kenneth was born November 4, 1928 to LaVar and Rose McAllister Moss Shurtz in St. George, Utah.

He married Lillie Mae Carraway on September 5, 1952 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. Kenneth served a full time mission with his wife to Venezuela.

Surviving are his three sons, four daughters, 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and brother Sheldon Shurtz.

Preceded in death by his wife Lillie, son Daniel Lynn Shurtz, brothers, Loyd LaVar, Douglas Glenn, sister Shola Jean, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Snow Canyon Ward, 2475 No. Valley View Drive, Layton. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
