Keith Edward LaRue Jr. “Eddie”, age 59 of Syracuse, Utah, devoted son, caring uncle and loving brother died suddenly Saturday, August 16, 2025, at this home.
He was born November 13, 1965, in St. Clair, Michigan, son of Keith Edward Sr. and Jeanne M. Bowman LaRue.
Eddie graduated from Bountiful High School in 1985. He then served a two-year LDS mission to Roanoke VA from 1985-1987. Eddie was a member of the Syracuse Meadows Ward and was employed by C.M. Steel in Clearfield just prior to his death.
He enjoyed the mountains, camping, his dogs and horseback riding, but his greatest love was fishing. While not an easy riser, Eddie could be ready in an instant when fishing was on the menu for the day.
Whether he was roasting marshmallows with his sister on a 100-watt lightbulb, playing in the snow, or ice skating, he enjoyed life until the mental illness of bi-polar entered his life. He is now at peace and free from the disease that plagued him for years.
His love for his children and their care was highly important to Eddie. He loved all his nieces and nephews and felt ALL children were special and deserved to be treated as special. When kids were around, Eddie could always be ‘hit up’ for chocolate milk, Doritos, or popcorn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Keith LaRue Sr., nephews Kayden E. Bise, and Carter Atwood, and a niece Whitney McQuivey, his loyal and loving dog Sassy, and his horse Charlotte.
He is survived by his mother Jeanne LaRue of Syracuse, his sister Ramona J. McQuivey (Kyle) of Idaho, his dog J. Cash, six nieces and one nephew; Shaunna L. Ludlow (Zachariah), Krystal N. Bise (Lance), Jessica C. Ringler (Mathew), David E. Lore Jr. (Mary Ann), Danielle McQuivey, Kylie McQuivey, and Madison McQuivey and great nieces and nephews; Darlene E. Lore, Mattie J. Ringler, Lucy R. Ringler, Isabelle Atwood, Hanna Lore, Leroy P. Lore, Warren K. Ludlow, Jackson D. Ludlow, Logan D. Ludlow, Clark T. Ringler, Liam J.E. Lore, Koa D.W. McQuivey, with another great-nephew on the way.
