Kay Flint Jacobson Olson

Kay Flint Jacobson Olson, 72, of Layton, Utah, passed away December 24, 2011 at the Davis Hospital surrounded by her parents, sons, brother, and grandchildren. Kay was born to Howard B. and Lorraine Layton Flint in Ogden, Utah September 29, 1939 and raised by her loving parents Alvin E. and Lorraine Layton Jacobson in Layton, Utah. She attended Layton Elementary School and graduated from Davis High School in 1957. Kay then went through the St. Benedicts Hospital Nursing School in Ogden, Utah.
Kay spent most of her life in Utah, except for brief periods of time in Olympia, Washington; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She worked fifteen years in nursing at the Logan, Utah Hospital and twenty-two years in personnel with the U.S. Air Force, retiring from Hill Air Force Base in 1995. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Her hobbies were bowling, golf, billiards and ceramics, especially porcelain. Kay played in a pool league at the "Do Drop" in Layton, Utah. She enjoyed making ceramics so much that just about everyone of her family and friends have one of her ceramic pieces.
She always said her greatest pleasure was being with and doing things for her family and friends. She loved her children and grandchildren and her parents. She was always there for them and for others who needed help. If anyone needed advice on anything, she had an answer! She loved life and was the life of the party and was a friend to everybody.
She is survived by her four sons, Chuck Bruen, Mark Bruen, Curtis Bruen, and Donald Wagner, parents Alvin E. and Lorraine Layton Jacobson, brother, Stewart Jacobson, grandchildren, Katie, Cassie and CJ, Jake, Nichole, Ashley and Shannon Bruen, Ashlee and Jake Mohr and great-grandchild Gunner Harper. She is preceded in death by her father Howard B. Flint, husband Michael B. Olson, brother, Joseph Peter Jacobson, sister Carrie Jacobson, grandmother Bird Belinda Adams Udy, step-grandfather Lloyd Udy, grandfather Harold Layton and step-grandmother Melba Layton.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
