Kathleen Gray-Mark, a loving wife, daughter, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2026.
Kathy was born in Hawthorne, Nevada, to Maria and Robert Gray of Layton. She spent her early years traveling both across the United States and overseas as part of a proud military family. Her father’s service in the United States Air Force gave Kathy the opportunity to experience different cultures and places, shaping her into a woman of strength, adaptability, and deep appreciation for life. Eventually, her family settled in Layton, Utah, where she built lasting friendships and a life filled with love, purpose, and warmth.
Kathy graduated from Layton High School, class of 1980. After high school, she pursued higher education and earned bachelor’s degrees in both German and Psychology, reflecting her love of language and understanding of people.
Before finding her lifelong career, Kathy explored a variety of jobs, always bringing dedication and warmth to everything she did. She eventually began her career as a flight attendant with Delta Airlines, where she truly found her passion. Kathy loved traveling the world, experiencing different cultures, and connecting with people from all walks of life. Over her 35-year career, she visited countless extraordinary places and formed many meaningful friendships. She retired with pride after decades of service, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and adventure.
Later in life, Kathy married the love of her life, her person, John Mark, finding a deep and meaningful companionship that brought her great joy. She leaves behind three beloved fur babies, who were a constant source of comfort, love, and happiness in her life.
Kathy is survived by her husband, John Mark; her stepdaughter, Stephanie; her mother, Maria; her niece, Jessica (Anthony); and her great-nieces, Payshantz and Elli. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Gray and her brother, Robert Gray.
Kathy will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, stubbornness and the love she gave so freely. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
