“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.” - Rumi

Kathleen Louise Gallagher (1955-2022) was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. From the time she was born in Phoenix, AZ, the world knew there was a spirited soul that was going to make her mark. Her passion for life was evident in the way she lived and the way she gave. Finding herself in Austin, TX, and Newport Beach, CA, as a Director of Human Resources, she was a mentor to those around her. She met her husband, Sean, in Newport Beach at Rothschild’s, and they later found their way to Ogden, Utah, leaving the sand for snow. She embraced the mountain area. You could often find her video chatting with her daughter Meredith Chaney (Zach) and son Chad Douglas (Chella). She could barely wait for the time zones to change so she could talk with her grandkids. She loved where she lived so much that she convinced her sister Mary Anne McCrea (late husband Jerry) to move to Ogden to be with her and her sister Nancy Knape (Marcia). Although her brothers, John Knape (Sherri) and Jim Knape (Dorian), and sister Carolyn Butler (Robert), live further away, she never stopped trying to bring everyone together. She loved having friends and family gather and would spread her arms wide with a big beaming smile to welcome you. As evident by all the heart shapes and rocks she has collected over the years, she truly lived her life knowing that love isn’t supposed to be limited but shared with all. A celebration of life will be in the spring when all her beautiful orchids bloom.
