Kathleen Grange Galbraith, 78, passed away October 1, 2025, from complications of Alzheimer’s related dementia. She was born January 7, 1947, to Kelland W. and Moselle (Young) Grange, the middle of six children. She graduated from Bonneville High School and earned her associates degree from Weber State College.
She married Michael Nielsen, and they had 4 children, Jennifer (Richard) Mickelsen, Jon Nielsen, Michele (Ron) Flint, and Matthew Nielsen (deceased). They were later divorced. She married Jerry Galbraith, and they had one son, Tyson Galbraith. They were divorced but remained friends until his death in 2000. She married Stephen Burton, and they later divorced.
She had worked at Weber State College, Intermountain Freeze-Dried Foods and retired from her distinguished career of over 30 years at the State of Utah, Division of Corrections – Adult Probation and Parole offices. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had held various callings over the years in Primary, Young Women’s, Relief Society, Activities Committee and music programs.
Kathy loved to sing and performed with the group One Voice for 11 years. Her talents also included crocheting, knitting and scrapbooking.
Kathy is survived by 4 kids, 9 Grandkids, 4 great-grandkids and siblings Linda Miller, Mary Jane Wilson, Scott (Diane) Grange and Randy (Lisa) Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Matthew Nielsen, brother Stephen Grange, sister-in-law Leilani Grange, brothers in law Richard Miller and Dannie Wilson, and daughter in law Stephanie Nielsen.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S, Roy, Utah. Family and friends are invited to viewings at the mortuary on Friday October 10 from 6-8p.m. or Saturday from 9-10:30 a.m. before services. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
