“All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust.” – Peter Pan

Katherine Ruth Fielding, better known and deeply loved as Kathy, found her “second star to the right” on February 27, 2026, passing away due to complications following a liver transplant. True to her youthful spirit, it feels only fitting to say she simply flew off to Neverland.

Kathy was born on July 11, 1955, in Ogden, Utah, to Marlow and Tacha Larsen. She loved reminding everyone that her birthday fell on 7/11 proudly declaring it “free Slurpee day!” with the same excitement she carried throughout her life. She graduated from Bonneville High School in Washington Terrace, Class of 1973.

Kathy first married Scott Redden, and together they welcomed her greatest treasures her two boys. Later, she married Lee Fielding in November 2007. Through this marriage, Kathy also gained a large extended family of stepchildren, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she welcomed with warmth and kindness.

She worked many jobs throughout her life but spent many dedicated years at KeyBank, retiring in 2024. Her coworkers and customers adored her. She was known for her peppy, cheerful personality, her quick wit, and the joy she carried wherever she went. There truly wasn’t a mad bone in her body.

Kathy was a lifelong Disney fanatic. Whether at Disneyland or Disney World, she felt right at home walking down Main Street, collecting treasures, and quoting her favorite films word for word. Her favorite was Peter Pan because she never wanted to grow up and she lived that truth every day. She believed in magic, in happy thoughts, and in finding joy in the little things.

She also loved to shop and had a special talent for finding the best deal in the store. Whether it was a Disney collectible, a gift for someone she loved, or a surprise she “just couldn’t pass up,” she took pride in stretching a dollar and celebrating every bargain like it was a victory. Giving to others brought her just as much joy as the find itself.

But of all the roles she played in life, her favorite was Mom and "Mickeynana". Her boys and grandchildren were the center of her world. She loved fiercely, spoiled generously, and celebrated every milestone big or small. Her little babies brought an extra sparkle to her eyes she adored their giggles, their tiny hugs, and the sweetness of watching another generation grow. They were her real-life “happy thoughts.”

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Marlow and Tacha Larsen.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Fielding; her siblings, Christy Larson and Brad Larson; her two boys, Jason (Christina) Redden and Casey (Amy) Redden; her four granddaughters, Kinsley (Bridger) Freestone, Jade (Drew) Smith, Sage Redden, and the newest light of her life, Emerson Redden; and her two treasured great-grandbabies, Beckham Smith and Bobbi Smith.

Though our hearts are heavy, we imagine Kathy hearing the words, “Think happy thoughts,” as she takes flight. Her laughter, her sparkle, her love of a good bargain, and her childlike wonder will live on in all of us.

As Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Kathy dreamed of a life full of love, magic, and family and she truly did it.

We love you to Neverland and back.
