Karren Crocker

January 15, 1943 — January 28, 2022

Karren Lou Crocker

Our Sweet mother, grandmother Karren Lou Crocker age 79 passed away in Ogden Utah, January 28, 2022 from heart complications.  She was born January , 1943 in Seattle Washington, the daughter of Lawerence Hendershot, and Madeline Springer.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life, friend, and companion Bruce Crocker.  Karren and Bruce eventually were able to move to Oregon where they retired.  Everything they did was together which included traveling, yard sales, and concerts.

Karren loved being near the ocean and soon found her niche in many hobbies. She had her own craft room where she would spend hours a day doing crafts from wood, ceramic, jewelry, and especially making unique fun stuff from shells she got from the beach. She often entered her work in the County fair, where she won many awards.

After Bruce passed away, we were lucky to have her move near us so we could spend more quality time with her.  She loved the occasional trip to the casino where she enjoyed gambling and just having fun.   She had a bucket list and one of the things she wanted to do was ziplining,  at age 78 she was able to cross that off her list.

Karren had an extreme passion for genealogy. She would spend days trying to find her descendants and would go so far as to buy a headstone if they didn't have one out of her own money.  She felt like everyone needed a proper burial.

She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. Her face would light up every time they reached out to say "Hi" or visit. It was hard to get her off the phone sometimes, she loved to jabber, which didn't leave much room for silence. Her conversations whether on the phone, or in person telling stories, or her favorite shows will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her five children (son) David Van Duren, (daughter) Deborah Bridge, (daughter) Dianna Littlewood (son) Daniel Van Duren, and (son) Michael White. She also was survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We would like to thank the staff at Mc-Kay-Dee Hospital for taking good care of her and doing all they could.  Also, we would like to thank David Van  Duren for being there for these past few years.

Services will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 from 6  to 7 pm at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit with family from 5 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.

Due to Karren's request, there will be no burial in Utah. She will be transported to lay next to her husband Bruce Crocker at Willamette National Cemetery 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Happy Valley, Oregon 97086.
