Listen to Obituary

Karen Fredsall Palmer was born on December 9, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to Charles Peter and Tekla Fredsall Palmer. In 1952, her family moved to Floral Park on Long Island, where she later graduated from Floral Park Memorial High School in 1966.

Karen continued her education at Farmingdale State College, earning a degree in graphic art in 1970. She went on to build a career working for several advertising firms in the New York area.

In the 1990s, Karen relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked for a civilian contractor supporting the Army Material Command. She remained in that role until her retirement in 2001.

Following her retirement, Karen lived with her Aunt Ellen Fredsall and her family, helping to care for her aunt. She was deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend that meaningful time with them. After Aunt Ellen’s passing, Karen moved to Ogden, Utah, to be closer to her brother.

Karen’s life was cut short by a sudden and unexpected illness. She is already greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Karen is survived by her brother, Peter Palmer; her nephews, Benjamin, Nathan, Adam; and her niece, Emilie.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
