On May 18, 1962, God loaned this world one of His favorite children, June Ann. June Ann is the first child of Lynn and Hazel Berglund, and was the first girl born into the Berglund family in generations. Following her into this world a year later was her brother David. June Ann and David became a two-fisted duo, partners in crime and buddies. Life has its ebbs and flows but David and June Ann were there for each other all the way to her final moments on this earth.

Lynn Berglund owned an auto body shop in downtown Ogden, Utah, and throughout her childhood, JuneAnn found herself there often. However, she preferred to be in motion, she loved fishing and hunting, bringing home snakes, spiders, and mice as she has had a lifelong love for animals of all shapes and sizes. As she progressed through life, she has had many animal companions and wanted eventually to have them all. She had a great love of birds, but her dearest companion and animal soulmate was “Ira”, her blue, almost 200 lb Neapolitan Mastiff. You did not know June Ann if you did not know of her love for big dogs.

June Ann left home at a very young age and spent time exploring the challenges of this world. It was a dangerous world, and she had several near misses, but God carried her through. She married in her teens to a man that she spoke of little, preferring instead to remember that she learned a great deal about Iranian culture and more importantly Greek and Persian cooking.

She returned to Utah, found and fell in love with her first real love Michael. Michael was a “big dog” at 6’8” and almost 500 lbs. Nothing intimidated June Ann and this large man became her world for the next two decades of life. He gave her a good life and many great memories, but life took a tragic turn, and he died over two decades ago. His passing broke June Ann and she had some very rough years as she did not want to live. But in that darkness a miracle happened. She argued with God. And He answered her with love. She understood that she was one of His favorite children. He put June Ann on a path where she met her dear friend Chris, and Chris didn’t just save her life, she saved her soul and restored her hope.

God has an interesting way of gaining our attention and He had to get bold with June Ann. He wanted her to move back to Ogden, a place she had promised herself that she never would return. She lost that argument when He dropped a couple of tree branches through her trailer home making it unlivable.

Returning to Ogden was a test of June Ann’s endurance and faith. June Ann had been born with shallow joints and weak bones. Life had worn down her hips and in back-to-back surgeries she had both replaced in two weeks. This was a time of struggle and sacrifice for June Ann, but the miracle came.

God promised June Ann one last great true love. Her move to Ogden was a test of her faith, but it was also necessary to fulfill that promise. While looking for a coach to help her physically recover from the hip surgery, she saw a video online of a coach and her life changed. June Ann had amazing electronic detective skills, and she spent from November 2019 to February 14 2020 cyberstalking David Edgell. As she said later, “I needed a coach that I could butt heads with…and I liked what I saw.” When June Ann first contacted David in February of 2020 he was sick with what later was found out to be covid. They spent three weeks texting. In reading those texts again you can see that June Ann and David mapped out their marriage in the first three days of texting…and they had not yet even met in person. Miracles happened before they even met and after their first date on March 8, 2020, they were inseparable. She liked “Big Dogs” and he has a weakness for redheads. More than that, their whole existence aligned. June Ann and David took their marriage vows on May 21, 2021, and lived a fairytale life for almost five years. They. Love. Each. Other. In October of 2023 they made eternal commitments to each other and were sealed for eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple.

June Ann lived her last two years in Farr West where she and her husband created a warm and caring life. June Ann let her love pour through David to all the people who patronized their business. June Ann is a person of no half measures and would make sure that you were not a person of half effort.

In her final days and weeks, she made sure to leave a strong message of faith, strength, and love. Here is her final message:Heeeeey.I just want to announce to my friends, family, and the world that I graduated and went home to heaven today.

By the time you read this I will be chatting with my Father in Heaven, and He will be overjoyed to have his favorite daughter home. When I am done, I will be sure to carry all your messages to your loved ones.

I am only sorry that I had to leave so many of my dear friends behind, but now I will be able to watch over each of you better than ever before. I am not sorry that I got to leave the evil and darkness of this world and that now, with Father’s guidance, I will be able to fight against evil without the restraints of my mortal body.

I leave you with some life lessons:“NO” is an ok answer.Love is only valid when you love with all of you.It is not love when you allow someone to be “less” than that of which they are capable.Always look for the miracle and you will see them every day.God did not bring you this far, just to set you up to fail.Food tastes best when mixed with fingers, taste-tested often, and seasoned with love. There is no such thing as coincidence.Things work out exactly the way they are supposed to.I stayed longer than I should have because I have one task undone. I am leaving behind my eternal love. I don’t think he is ready. I have done my best to prepare him, but it will be a while before he joins me at home. I am his Queen. Please protect and carry my King for me, so that he can safely finish his work. He still has much to do.Life will be good for you. It doesn’t have a choice.

-June Ann
