June Whitesides Adams Baxter

March 13, 1924 — May 1, 2023

Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 99. June was born in Clearfield, Utah to Wilford and Mareta Whitesides, on March 13,1924. The family moved to Layton and lived on East Gentile throughout her childhood. She

was the oldest of three children, brother, Rulon Whitesides, and sister Lucy Hickman .She graduated from Davis High in 1942, and remained close friends with Golda Downs, Beth Fadel, and Jean Warren, making plans for their monthly luncheons until they were well into their 90s.

She married Fred Kershaw Adams on February 15, 1946. They purchased a home on Rosewood Lane in Layton, where she resided her entire life. Along came three children, Ann, Val, and Jane. Fred passed away in 1970. The marriage was solemnized in 2018, in the Bountiful

Temple.

She married Don Guy Baxter on November 13, 1976. She became the stepmother to Dianne Baxter, Idaho Falls, ID, and Judy Baxter, Layton, Utah. Don passed away in 2017.

She worked at the 1st National Bank of Layton, retiring after 25 years. She enjoyed working with her customers and developed many friendships along the way.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions throughout the years, she told us she enjoyed working with the Primary children the most.

She loved gardening, sewing, and quilting. She loved the Utah Jazz and was able to attend a live game at the age of 94, with her granddaughter. She loved spending time with her family and spent countless hours tending and helping family members, always putting others before

herself.

June is survived by her children: Ann Williams, Boise, ID, Val (Wanda) Adams, and Jane (Matt) Tezak, both of Layton, Eight grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; and husbands. The family would like to express their gratitude and love to the nurses and staff of Sunridge Assisted Living, and Atlas Hospice. Family members were with June in her final hours. In lieu of flowers, do something kind to someone you love.
