Julia never had any children, but was married to the love of her life, James Richard “Jim” Braithwaite, in August of 1989 in Ogden. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Julia enjoyed genealogy. She loved researching her family and taking the names she researched to the temple. Together they were able to travel and spent time in Connecticut and Mississippi. Julia had a love for people and made dear friends wherever she went. She was the most gracious and loving person and developed lasting friendships whether she was someplace for a hour, a day, or a year.

Julia will be remembered for her wit, her kindness and concern for others, her generosity, and her optimistic outlook on life.

After Jim passed she continued to live at Treeo and the relationships she had at Treeo, Perry, Connecticut, Mississippi, Denver, or where ever she went were lasting friendships.

Julia is survived by her brother, Maurice Smith; her nieces, Natalie Moffit, Mykalene Shaw, Tiffany Parkinson; nephew, Nate Smith. She is also survived by her cousin, Ryan (Robin) Harris and their children. In addition to her husband, Jim, Julia was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sohpia Maude “Kaye” Jones and Morris Edward Smith.
