Judy Loy Cox Cooper

March 28, 1942 — May 25, 2025

Judy Loy Cox Cooper, a beloved mother, cherished grandmother, and devoted member of her community, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 25, 2025, in Ogden, Utah.

Born on March 28, 1942, in Fairview, Utah to Orren and Nellie Cox, Judy touched the lives of many throughout her remarkable journey.

Judy devoted a significant part of her life to serving her country at Hill Air Force Base, from which she retired before embarking on a fulfilling chapter at Deseret Industries. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her dedication to her family and community. As a quiet and friendly person, Judy's loving nature radiated warmth to all those she encountered.

Her role as a mother was one of the most treasured aspects of her life, exemplified by her nurturing spirit and her endeavors as a foster grandparent. She dedicated countless hours to volunteering in schools, delighting in reading to children and encouraging their growth and learning. Her loving presence and gentle demeanor left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone she met.

Judy’s interests were as diverse as they were engaging. She enjoyed bowling, indulging in bingo nights, and was known as an avid movie watcher. Her passion extended to card games, particularly pinnacle, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air. A skillful crocheter, she created numerous baby blankets that brought comfort and joy, a labor of love that she continued until her hands were no longer able.

Judy is survived by her loving sons, Scott, Terone “Ty” (Tonya), Kenneth “KC”, and Darold (Elizabeth). Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit and warmth with them.

She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Susan Kay; her parents, Orren and Nellie, and her nine siblings. Though her physical presence may be gone, the love and memories she created will forever remain with those fortunate enough to have known her.

As we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a quiet strength affirmed in every act of kindness, and a love boundless in its reach. Judy will be deeply missed but will always hold a special place in our hearts.
