Judith (Judy) Bartolomei Friedman

October 21, 1940 — September 5, 2023

Woods Cross

Judith (Judy) Bartolomei Friedman, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother passed away suddenly at the age of 82. She was surrounded by her loving family as she took her last breath.

Born October 21, 1940, in Ukiah, California, Judy was the third of four children born to Ernest Bartolomei and Norma Venturi Bartolomei. Unfortunately, Judy’s twin brothers were born prematurely. Judy was raised with her younger brother Greg in the home built by their father in Ukiah.

Judy attended Ukiah High School; she was quite an athlete. She was a member of the swim, diving and synchronized swim team winning many awards and medals as well as lettering. She graduated from Ukiah High School in 1958 and maintained lifelong cherished friendships from her hometown.

After graduation Judy moved to San Francisco to attend San Francisco State College. While living in San Francisco, she met her future Husband, Mack Hall.  Judy and Mack married on June 5, 1960 and welcomed their daughter Darla on June 23, 1961.

Judy spent many years in the brokerage business before starting her own bookkeeping business. Judy had a lively personality, lighting up any room she walked into. She was generous and loving to the people in her life. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything for them. She was a force to be reckoned with.

Judy married her late husband Jerry Friedman in 1999. Judy and Jerry enjoyed living an “Arts and Entertainment” lifestyle together. They were an outgoing couple, both social butterflies. They made a lifetime of memories meeting new people and traveling the world together.

Judy and Jerry moved from California to Utah in 2020 to be closer to family, we cherished and enjoyed their company for the three short years that they were here. Judy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was taken too soon.  We feel deeply blessed to have called her Mom, Grandma and Nonna.

Judy is survived by her brother Greg Bartolomei (Paula), daughter Darla (“Dede”) Slagowski (Darrell), grandson Zach Slagowski (Devinie) and great granddaughter Layla, granddaughter Brianna Slagowski and great granddaughter Blake, step grandson Jeff Slagowski (Cassi) great grandchildren Zeke and Belle, step grandson Sam Slagowski (Bethany) great grandchildren Elijah and Miyah, all from Utah and her stepson David Friedman, stepson Glenn Friedman (Suzanne), granddaughters, Alexandra and Katherine Friedman, stepdaughter Lisa Dunbar (Mark), grandson Adam Dunbar (Britni) and great grandson Jalen and granddaughter Leah Dunbar, all from California.  Judy was predeceased in death by her husband Jerry Friedman, parents Ernest and Norma Bartolomei and her twin brothers John and Martin Bartolomei.
