Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend passed away. She was born on October 20, 1940, Arboles, CO, to Juan Jose and Sophia Lobato Payan. She graduated from Ogden High School.
Her career included Hill AFB, IRS, and Jetway.
Her hobbies included flowers, ceramics, embroidery, gardening, reading, drawing, tennis, and bowling.
She was den leader of the Boy Scouts, President Women’s Church Group, Promoters of the Sacred Heart, and other Groups in the Church.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Ronald Shick; sons, Christopher (Michelle) Shick, Quinley (Renee) Shick; granddaughters, Sophia Shick, Madeline Shick, and Mary Shick; grandsons, Conrad Shick and Michael Shick; brothers, Bill (Debbie) Velasquez, Louis (Tami) Payan; sisters, Mary Lena Arlofski and Cathy Trentman; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his father, John Payan; mother, Sophia Payan; sisters, Belinda Lopez, Mary Gene Salaz, and Cordy Velasquez; brothers, Chuck Velasquez and Mike Velasquez.
She was a dedicated long-time member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. She was loved and adored by many. We all love her and will miss her dearly.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 30, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th Street. Friends may visit with family from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, where flowers should be delivered to by Sunday.
